James Gunn has confirmed the official release date for
Peacemaker season 2. Despite the overwhelmingly positive reception following season 1"s release in 2022, there has been a three-year hiatus due to the shift in leadership at DC as James Gunn and Peter Safran launch a new DC Universe. An August 2025 release window for Peacemaker season 2 was previously confirmed, although an exact date had not been given.
On X, Gunn has now revealed that
Peacemaker season 2 will debut on Max as of August 21. He shared that he just finished post-production work on the season 2 premiere yesterday and that it is "one of my favorite things ever." Gunn also included footage from the upcoming season, which was included in a teaser for other upcoming HBO and Max series. The footage features John Cena"s titular character giving a thumbs up, running for his life, and crashing through a window, along with Leota Adebayo (Daniell Brooks) telling him, "You"re a superhero now."
